Who We Are

Lovin'Knit is the realization of a long time dream. Proprietor Pat Capistrant is originally from the Midwest and has been a knitter for many years. She truly became excited about knitting and inspired to teach when she had the privilege to attend Elizabeth Zimmerman's knitting camp and study under her daughter, Meg Swansen, in the summer of 1999. Since then, Pat has envisioned a place just like Lovin'Knit where knitters can come together to learn and enjoy each other's company. Over the years her three adult children have continued to encourage Pat to take Lovin'Knit from vision to vocation. She is so thankful for their loving "nudges" of support.

One aspect of the art that has been especially interesting to Pat is the fibers themselves. Working with silks, wools, and cotton (just to name a few), exploring their colors and textures, is what keeps her knitting. You will notice this interest when you visit Lovin'Knit, as many patrons have already commented on what a wide variety of yarns we carry. Pat hopes this can be a place where you can come to be inspired to try new materials, and always find your go-to favorites.

Pat is also thrilled to be joined by friends who share her joy of knitting, and doubly thrilled that they share her vision for Lovin'Knit. The staff is so warm and friendly, she has no doubt that you will feel welcomed when you enter the shop and inspired when you leave.
